ñaa luli

Through my mixed media installation, ñaa luli (2023), I reflect on my own girlhood and what it means for me to grow up to be an Indigenous woman in diaspora. I connect my personal memories to broader contemporary issues that harm Indigenous women and girls in my communities. Additionally, this installation explores the connection between screen printing and mediums such as hand weaving and embroidery. It confronts the invisibility of gendered labor, identity, preservation, personal memories and collective struggles.
